Proper Leather Care
Leather care may seem lengthy and dirt, but most of the time a soft bristled brush to wipe of debris, and a thin coat of mink or neatsfoot oil is the best option. That goes for our products as well, our in-stock items are always finished 100% with mink oil, while our tooled items get a thin coat of neatsfoot oil after tooling and before coloring. We use all Fiebing’s oils, dyes and finishes for our products. This works for boots, wallets, belts, bags, purses, saddles, halter sets, tack sets, etc. As long as it is full grain leather.
While oils are good for conditioning, we advise only a light coat of oil, as to much oil can actually damage the leather and its grain structure.
